Our regular, Second-Tuesday-Afternoon-of-the -Month Chapter Meeting is held remotely thru Zoom. Join us at 11:45 for time to socialize a bit, have lunch together and make sure you’re all set on Zoom.

Then we start our meeting promptly at noon with announcements and other business before our main program.

This month we will hear about the Reconciliation Bill in the U.S. Senate from Senator Markey’s aides Nolan O’Brien and Katie Morfill*, who wrote us: “While both the infrastructure and budget reconciliation packages will likely still be up in the air next Tuesday, Nolan and I would be happy to share what we can about both bills at the meeting.” Don’t we love getting the ‘inside scoop’ at our ECA meetings!

Anna Lenhart, legislative aide to Rep. Lori Trahan who serves as the U.S. Representative for Massachusetts’ 3rd congressional district, which covers the Northwestern suburbs of Boston and includes Lowell, Lawrence, Concord, and her hometown of Westford, will also weigh in on this.

The second half of our meeting we will continue delving into our priority bills ECA MASS is supporting with Susannah Hatch, the Clean Energy Coalition Director at the Environmental League of Massachusetts, and the Regional Lead for the New England for Offshore Wind coalition. In this work, she drives regional collaboration on offshore wind advocacy with a broad range of partners across New England. Her passion for clean energy and environmental policy stems from her interest in sustainability and climate policy, and she is delighted to bring her experience in capacity building and community engagement to ELM in support of its goals to deepen regional collaboration and expand New England commitments to responsibly developed offshore wind.
Susannah will fill us in on the big picture for off-shore Wind and why it’s important, and tell us about the coalition supporting it, what’s happening in the Mass legislature with OSW and the opposition we face.

Can you tell this is going to be another lively and informative meeting? ECA chapter meetings – where the science research we do and the experts we present give us the education we stand on to do the legwork for the legislative actions we take!
